Art Durbin has been in Emergency Medical Services since 1975 when he became an EMT. Art then went on to be a Paramedic and has currently been one for 45 years. He went on to earn his RN and is going on year 32 in that capacity. Art has worked in both Public and Private sector EMS. The thing he has enjoyed the most has been in the EMS education sector as a Primary Instructor as well as a Program Director. He has been teaching in EMS since 1986. He has a masters in adult education and has developed Paramedic Programs for City of Hemet Fire Department and Pechanga Fire Department, both in Southern California. Art was also a Tactical Paramedic and Reserve Officer for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Hemet Police Department for over 12 years. Art has also worked for the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department as a RN, 24 years as an emergency department nurse, 2.5 years Post Anesthesia Recovery. Art currently works as an RN in Montana when he is not teaching in the EMS education system. Art brings decades of experience as an EMS educator as well as his own experiences from his career in EMS for the last 48 years. He is dedicated to bringing up the next generation of EMS providers and making sure they get the education that they will need for a lifelong career.
